At the Els Estinclells Archaeological Complex, we invite you to DISCOVER the life of an Ilergetian fortified settlement from the Iberian period through guided tours led by the archaeologists of Estinclellsdifusió.
The Els Estinclells settlement is one of the few archaeological sites in the Lleida region (Terres de Lleida) to have been almost entirely excavated.
The remains belong to a single chronological phase (3rd century BC), making the site highly accessible and easy to understand for the general public. Furthermore, it features the first Field of Protohistory Experimentation (CEP), which introduces experimental structures to the site, significantly enhancing its educational value.
Additionally, Roman remains—currently under active excavation—have been documented at the foot of the hill. The combination of these three elements makes Els Estinclells an exceptional archaeological site and a premier model for education and cultural outreach. Notably, Els Estinclells is also part of the “Ruta dels Ibers” (Iberian Route) network managed by the Archaeology Museum of Catalonia.
Beyond our guided tours, we offer a hands-on approach to daily life in the Iberian period. We provide visitors with the pedagogical tools and resources needed to PARTICIPATE in a variety of group workshops. Our work follows two main pillars: a scientific project in experimental archaeology and educational and social outreach developed in close collaboration with the local community. It is a journey back to protohistoric times that invites you to ENJOY a walk through history at this remarkable archaeological site.
